After our morning test sessions, we'll continue with our novel reading and also work on our personal narratives that we began a week ago. The students are using vivid verbs and adjectives to describe a memorable moment in their lives. We will discuss the difference between revising and editing and they will have the opportunity to do both as they share their stories with others and make them the best they can be.
Spelling this week will focus on words using "ie" and "ei". Those are always confusing words for us!
We are winding down our chapter on Mesopotamia in social studies. We will talk about Hammurabi's Code of Laws and the students will try to make some decisions on a few of the problems Hammurabi may have faced. We will use a Venn Diagram to compare and contrast fair vs. unfair. Let's see how the Mesopotamian citizens would have faired with our students as their judge!
